This was definitely one of the biggest cultural shocks I ever had. I went to college in lower Westchester County (just outside New York) and was amazed how there were so many guys and girls like this. The strangest thing too is you’ll have a group of these guys all go out shopping together, get manicures, pedicures, waxings and tans and then act like Tough Guys. I always thought those type of things were generally thought of as gay or metrosexual, but certainly not the actions of a Tough Guy. I still don’t understand how people around here buy into this as being cool.
