Mulberry, Florida (WTSP) – It’s the fist fight being watched around the world. By now most people know what sparked it. Trash talking supposedly posted on the victim’s MySpace page.
But who are the six girls and two guys accused in the beating? Brittni Hardcastle is the one in the white tank top and pink sweats. Her grandfather told us by phone “We support her.”
The video is all the buzz at Mulberry High School where many of the suspects attend classes. Tuesday students say teachers had to tell classes to stop talking about the video.
But one student says not only are many people shocked about the video they’re also shocked about the main person throwing punches in it saying Brittni Hardcastle is one of the nicest people you’d ever want to meet.
Kathy Morrisroe is a student at Mulberry high school student and says “I couldn’t believe it. I was watching it and I saw that it was Brittni and I went to church with the girl. She doesn’t strike me at all like that.” In fact Kathy says Brittni befriended her and was very nice to her.
Miles Fass is also a Mulberry high school student who says the suspects in the video are not known as being bullies. “They’re known to be pretty cool actually to tell you the truth I wouldn’t believe it if I didn’t see it on the internet.”
We called the parents of the other students accused in the beating. The mother of Brittany Mayes says her daughter is “A good girl.”

yes flds does equal mormon, but i still think it’s important to use term flds, i know some mormons, they’re perfectly normal people, perfectly able to live in mainstream society and abide by british laws. It’s like making a distinction between mainstream islam and wahabi islam, these people are considered extreme within the wider context of thier own religion.

Sorry, I assumed you had some basic knowledge on the subject. Which time period… ?The time period during which the LDS church practiced and condoned polygamy. 1830(s) to 1904. Which LDS prophets… ?There were 6 of them during that period of time.It only ‘implies a lot of things’ to someone completely unfamiliar with LDS history. As we are discussing LDS history, I assumed you were in the know.

This is the same across many Mormon sects.

The “real” Mormon church base in Salt Lake City has actually helped chase these guys down and contributed towards getting their leader locked up.

Except Opus Dei is part of the Catholic church and FLDS is a separate entity. So more like Catholic, Protestant. That’s probably a better analogy.

I’m not defending either BTW, it’s just like saying the Catholic doctrine is responsible for Protestant behavior.Oh crap. I’m arguing religion on the Internet…this will not end anytime soon.

The “current teachings of the current LDS Church based out of Utah” STILL includes the commandments from the Lord to practice polygamy. Open your LDS scriptures to D&C 132, or see it on the LDS Church’s official web site:http://scriptures.lds.org/en/dc/132They don’t practice it, but they still preach it. Polygamy as Joseph Smith practiced it is still LDS Church doctrine.

The women? I hear they’re pretty loose.

That sounds logical, but there are also allegations of the LDS prophets of the time sending the men on missions and marrying off the wives in their absence.Hard to rationalize that sort of behavior.
