UPC Austria has revamped its digital TV offer including a PVR, video-on-demand, up to 140 digital channels and a price that matches traditional analogue cable. In a special introductory action, the cable company has waived the sign-up fee. UPC has set the price of the basic digital offer at the same level as the analogue Telekabel TV includes a UPC Mediabox. Digital TV Start costs €20.90 a month, Digital TV PLus €25.90. People wishing to upgrade to a PVR pay €4 a month if they subscribe to an extended digital tier, €5.90 if they just buy basic digital. VOD movies start at €3, adult entertainment costs €4.
Customers can also buy all Premiere premium bouquets available in Austria and can chose between two international packages, International 1 (Eurosport Polska, Eurosport Türkçe, HRT TV 1, BHT 1, RTS Sat, TV Polonia, POLSAT 2, Duna TV) and International 2 (Al Jazeera, France 24, 24 VESTI news, RAI Due, TVEi, RTR Planeta, EDTV1, CCTV4), also available is Digiturk Euro Kabel, Hustler TV, TV Pink and Hayat. Music+ offers MTV2, MTV Dance, MTVhits!, VH-1 Europe, VH-1 Classic and MCM Top.

the banks are to blame for predatory lending.the people are to blame for not being capable enough to not get taken advantage of and for reckless spending.the most blame goes to the government for not doing its job to protect people properly and for bastardizing the legal system at the behest of these companies in order that the system benefit them.

How are they selfish? You think they just wanted to wear pink because it goes with their shoes? From the article, it just seems like they only left her unattended in her room for an hour or so (not that shocking). It’s just bad luck.

besides the obvious political message there is a little kink to the system: money that has come back to the banks has been invested in the economy and in theory it has become “real” by the jobs, real products and assets it created. Even if the system seems very unstable and very unfair it is the only way a country with a normal evolution (stable population, no engineering breakthrough etc) can have a fast increasing GDP. To sum it up - you create today fake money, let them out into the real world and tomorrow they will be real.At least that’s the theory - and it isn’t a conspiracy - it is (should be) sound economy. Regulations should adapt to maintain the status quo, which didn’t happen with the sub-primes.

Even if you think you know how the Fed works, there is an insight here that may have escaped you. A very clear, succinct, accurate, and illuminating exposition of the basic mechanics of central banking. Some political criticism thrown in at the end, but if you don’t like it, ignore it.

It’s still difficult to grasp. The basic jist of it is; the fed creates money for the banks, banks can loan out 90% of what they have on hand, which is then promptly deposited back in the banks, which the banks can then loan out 90% of… lather, rinse, repeat.Then there’s no way to pay all that interest with a finite amount of cash in the system, so they have to keep throwing more money into the system, continually devaluing the dollar.
